5 September 2012: Prof Paula Kotzé, from the Enterprise Knowledge Engineering and Management Group (MEKE), has delivered the Keynote Address at the International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED) Health Informatics 2012 Conference, held in Gaborone. Botswana, from 2 to 6 September 2012. Her talk focused on the interlink between technical and social aspects, i.e. socio-technical issues, in me-health (the use of mobile and other ICT devices in healthcare). Her talk illustrated the dependencies of these issues and how they impact on the implementation of successful ICT system for healthcare.

IASTED Africa HI Keynote

 

26 September 2012: Five of our PhD students (Mariana Carroll, Jan Mentz, Sonja Gilliland, Dina Jacobs and Marne de Vries) had the opportunity to showcase their design science research projects to Prof Alan Hevner from the University of South Florida during his recent visit to the University of Pretoria.  15 May 2013: A former PhD student has since become Professor at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and presented her Professorial Inaugural Lecture on 15 May 2013.  Here is she at the event with one of her PhD supervisors, Prof Paula Kotzé from MEKE.

25 May 2014: Indira Padayachee graduated with a PhD in Information Systems from Unisa. Here is she with Alta van der Merwe at the graduation ceremony in Durban.
